Karen J. Frank

January 4, 1942- July 2, 2011

Karen J. Frank, 69, of Janesville passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg, WI. She was born January 4, 1942, she attended Janesville schools and graduated from Janesville High School in 1960. On May 2, 1964, she married Rudy F. Frank and was blessed with two wonderful sons. At the urging of and with much encouragement from her husband, she entered Blackhawk Tech and graduated with a nursing degree in 1983. She was a nurse for Dr. Richard Kochell for 20 years until his retirement and then for Dr. Edward Miller until her retirement. Karen enjoyed quilting, playing Mahjong, caring for her yard and gardens and traveling around the world with her son, David. The highlight of each spring was the annual trips to the beach house in Florida with her family for two weeks. Making crafts, strawberry jam and rosettes with her granddaughters brought her great joy. Karen was a member First Lutheran Church for 50 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Rudy M. (Mickey) Frank and David L. Frank, three granddaughters, Sarah, Rebecca and Hannah whom she lovingly referred to as her three chickadees, two brothers, Douglas and Donald, sister-in-law, Bev, nieces, nephews, many wonderful friends and neighbors. Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy on August 19, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a brother, David Miller and her mother, Lovida Hill Miller Cameron.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, 612 N. Randall Avenue, Janesville with Pastor Naomi Garber officiating. Private interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 8th at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to HospiceCare, Inc. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
